I'll send you their protocol on raising beef cattle by the grass fed method. Thanks for getting me in that direction. --JackAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7129787696807656257.post-50011634331465083342010-05-10T18:09:46.455-06:002010-05-10T18:09:46.455-06:00Locally, its getting easier and easier to find gra...Locally, its getting easier and easier to find grass fed beef and even Bison here in Encinitas. And the local Costco has been carrying ground Bison. I love the taste.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04546469834489306460noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7129787696807656257.post-9375750630830192712010-05-10T07:18:32.647-06:002010-05-10T07:18:32.647-06:00We watched "King Corn" based on your fir...We watched "King Corn" based on your first recommendation of the movie. The treatment of cows is disgusting. I was just as disturbed by government actions that have lead to corn syrup being found in so many food products where it's not necessary. The health implications are enormous. Thanks for another thought provoking post!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7129787696807656257.post-86771169102463912452010-05-09T07:18:29.509-06:002010-05-09T07:18:29.509-06:00Martie: I do like the grass fed approach. The cattle grazed on native grasses and when I shipped them, they had put on good weight, looked good, and were healthy all the way around. We raised Angus. The longhorn genetics is so very good to be cross-bred into just about any beef stock. Marvelous post you have here.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7129787696807656257.post-79978163376377792762010-05-05T16:39:24.847-06:002010-05-05T16:39:24.847-06:00Ruthie: You are so right, and game meat is suppos...Ruthie: You are so right, and game meat is supposed to be so good for you. Did I ever tell you we can buy elk meat in our local supermarket? Also buffalo meat is commonly found here, also supposed to be good for you. Thanks for weighing in! :0)Taos Sunflowerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14858962854162972354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7129787696807656257.post-15427365092637841432010-05-05T09:18:34.422-06:002010-05-05T09:18:34.422-06:00Thanks Martie. That's why I like being a deer hunter and having control over the meat that's going into my freezer and my mouth.RuthieJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11663411478574192825noreply@blogger.com
