Love at first sight...again

Sonatt
When I was hanging out in Dallas last month, my friend Maryann showed up with a Kromski Sonata spinning wheel.  I had heard of them, read about their history in Poland, and had no further curiosity.

Then, it came out of its carrying bag.  Sigh.  It was love at first sight.

First, it was stained with a walnut colored stain...very appealing after years and years of blond wheels (see how fickle I am).  Then, I watched her spin on it...it was dreamy to watch.  I came home with a bad case of wheel lust.

Weeks later, guess what's in my house?  My other wheels are used to sharing my attentions, and they know in time, they'll fall back into favor...but for now...one walnut colored wheel has my heart.

i've had my ashford kiwi for almost a year and now am dreaming of more portability. it never made sense to be that you would need more than 1 wheel - now i'm beginning to understand. she's a beauty!

You will LOVE the Kromski. A few years ago when they first were sold here in the US, I got a Polonaise (the only model that was available then) and I adore it. It is actually signed, dated, and numbered on the bottom of the bench! At the moment it is in Scotch tension mode working on the finest baby alpaca in the world.
I also have an Ashford traditional double drive (just ordered a lace-spinning head for it) and for moving about the countryside, a Bosworth Journey Wheel that is a delight. A girl can't have too many wheels, right?
