Still waiting

Not that many of you who read this are interested, but to my friends and family who are, there is still no baby as of this morning. So much for channeling the spirit of my dead mom to help out! (On the other hand...my mom had a huge stubborn streak, so maybe that's her gift to this baby, who is clearly biding her own time.)

Quick question...I've been finding these (empty) shells on the beach at low tide. Does anyone know what they are? I cannot find anything on the internet that looks like them and it's driving me bonkers. If you have any clues, I'd sure love some help!

More soon...Martie

PS These are not small...the largest measures 4" from bottom to top.

I have never seen shells just like that either but they are beautiful. Good luck with the baby watch. My cousin just delivered a beautiful boy --- 13 days late!

I'm interested - I have been following this saga from the beginning - can't wait to see pictures of baby Maddy - I know Erika is glad the end is finally in sight. Oh too bad that she wasn't born on what would have been your mother's 100th birthday. She's got a mind of her own and won't be hurried.

I was just thinking about you this morning! No baby yet? Well she will come into this world when she is ready! Yep, this one must have your mother's stubborn streak. Remember, we love strong women!
The shells are beauties. I have no clue what they are.............but they are lovely.
Visualizing little Maddy and knowing each day she is growing more and getting stronger and stronger!!!! Hugs to all of you!

Hi Martie,

I just ran across your blog and love that you posted your experience with the D-30 and now with the Ashley. I'm a fairly new spinner, I learned on an Ashford traveller (I bought it because I wanted to try out spinning first and turns out that I really enjoy it). Now I'm feeling ready to step it up and get a bigger, better, do it all type of wheel. I'm looking for a wheel that will be a go to wheel for almost everything from heavy worsted to fingering (maybe lace). I've looked at the Tina II and was also considering the D-30 (as it is a bigger wheel and more beautiful) and then I could get a lendrum or a hansen mini-spinner if I need a travel wheel in the future.

Anyway, what I wanted to ask you is the following:
- Which wheel do you think would be best for what I'm looking for?
- What's your experience with running the D-30 in scotch tension? (I heard it from some other blog that it really only works well in double drive, is that true?)

I would really appreciate your answer.
My name on ravelry is Plinio if you prefer to PM on there. Thanks

PS: I totally feel you on the Jensen will retire soon feeling...so before he does I want a beautiful handmade wheel and he seems the guy for it.

Wish we had an automatic bell that could go off - to tell us that precious healthy bundle has arrived.
Can you tell, we are all excited for you? xoxoxoxox

Hi Martie, I'm very late in catching up with blog reading, but so happy to hear about sweet Maddy Rose! BTW, the shells are wavy top turban snails, very common in the rocky reef areas along our coast. One of my favorites.
